About the role!

The Clinical Program Specialist- EBC is responsible for serving as a mentor and support provider for new clinicians at the Palo Alto Campus. The Clinical Program Specialist supports the administration and implementation of clinical services within the school setting. This role provides leadership and support to clinical staff, assists with the development and coordination of mental health, and ensures compliance with school policies, state regulations, and best practices in student services. The Clinical Program Specialist works collaboratively with school staff, school administrators, parents, and community organizations to promote a supportive and positive learning environment for students. This position currently reports to the Clinical Program Manager.

As a Clinical Program Specialist-EBC, you will:

Program Coordination & Administration:
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical services programs, including mental health, counseling, social-emotional learning, and crisis intervention.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of clinical programs, ensuring resources, scheduling, and staff are aligned with student needs.
  • Support in the development of individualized treatment plans for students requiring clinical intervention.
  • Help ensure that clinical services align with state and federal regulations, including compliance with laws related to student confidentiality and mental health.

Supervision and Support of Clinical Staff:
  • Provide oversight and support to clinical staff.
  • Assist in conducting staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities for the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with clinical supervisors to ensure staff are meeting performance expectations and receiving adequate supervision.
  • Support clinical staff with caseload management, ensuring effective distribution of cases and proper documentation.

Data Collection & Reporting:
  • Help monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical services through regular data collection and outcome measurement.
  • Prepare reports related to student progress, program effectiveness, and compliance for school leadership.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records for all students receiving clinical services, ensuring that documentation meets legal and ethical standards.

Collaboration & Communication:
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff, school administrators, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meetings, and other student support planning sessions.
  • Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, clinical services, and available resources.
  • Promote awareness of mental health and wellness resources within the school community.

Crisis Management & Intervention:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of crisis intervention protocols and procedures.
  • Respond to urgent mental health needs and crises within the school, providing support and guidance as necessary.
  • Support staff in managing difficult situations with students who are at risk of harm or facing significant behavioral or emotional challenges.

Program Evaluation & Improvement:
  • Assist in the evaluation and continuous improvement of clinical services based on feedback from students, families, and school staff.
  • Collaborate in the review and update of clinical procedures, practices, and protocols to ensure they meet evolving needs and best practices.
  • Stay updated on current research, trends, and best practices in school-based mental health and counseling services.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues in children and adolescents, including crisis management and intervention strategies.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards regarding student confidentiality (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with school-based mental health frameworks and services.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information appropriately.


About your background (education/experience):

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • At a minimum must have completed 2,500 of the required supervised clinical hours.
  • Must be eligible to sit for the licensing exam within 6 months of obtaining the position.
  • Must have experience in working with students and families.
  • Must have experience working with students with IEPs.


Working Conditions

Physical Requirements:
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to undergo training and implementation of Crisis Response Training.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.


Special Job Requirements:
  • It will be necessary for the Clinical Program Specialist to occasionally attend after-school or agency-wide events that take place after regular school hours.
  • The Clinical Program Specialist is expected to attend such events as they are scheduled.
  • 210-day calenda to be determined by the employee and supervisor.
  • This is an on-site position.

Compensation:

Range: $80,000-$115,000

Pay Type: salary

The actual base salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
