Must-Have:
- Varian Trilogy experience
Job Description:
- Administer radiation therapy following physician's instructions and the patient's treatment plan.
- Input data into the computer, set controls to operate and adjust equipment, and regulate dosage.
- Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists to prepare physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans.
- Construct patient immobilization devices as ordered by physicians.
- Maintain patient and billing records, including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patients' reactions, in line with department policies and procedures.
- Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, such as total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy, according to established practices and standards.
- Prepare equipment and room for patient treatments.
- Use appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure the safety of patients, self, and others.
- Conduct quality assurance procedures per state and federal guidelines.
- Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
