Overview
Job Summary
Coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve engineering-related production problems encountered in the manufacturing facility. Confers with quality control, materials, manufacturing and other department personnel to provide technical support. Investigates reports of defective, damaged, or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment, or systems to determine nature and scope of problem, and define solutions. Examines, measures, inspects, investigates and tests suspected defective parts for conformance to engineering specifications. Evaluates findings to formulate corrective action plans and coordinate implementation. Serves as member of material review board (MRB) to determine disposition of defective or damaged parts. Checks drawings and suggests changes to improve produce ability and functionality. Coordinates repairs IAW OEM SRMs (Structural Repair Manuals) and creates clean-sheet structural repairs (including structural calculations when needed) suitable for submission to the FAA via a designated engineering representative (DER).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following.
Provide short-flow technical, analytical, and data solutions as a means to maintain production and Quality Assurance (QA) efforts and workflow.
Coordinate and release Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to support production and QA efforts
Coordinate and expedite Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions to support production and QA efforts
Provide technical guidance to facilitate workflow through production and QA areas.
Work with Certification Engineers and Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) as needed for project deliverables
Support Engineering department with development, data release, and analysis
Other Duties as assigned.
Additional Job Requirements
Develops some expertise on federal aviation regulations (FARs) and regulatory processes in support of manufacturing
Supports Customer Support personnel and proposes solutions to customer issues
Regular scheduled attendance
Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering from four-year college or university; and three to five years' Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years' experience in a production setting.
Previous aircraft electrical/engineering knowledge preferred

Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task and meet deadlines
Dependable and self-motivated
Computer Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Proficient with CAD software (AutoCAD and Solidworks preferred)
