Knowledge & Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with specialized financial training. Experience: Requires more than ten years of experience in cost accounting and financial management. Role Complexity: Involves diverse data analysis, financial forecasting, and decision-making impacting company performance. Foresight & Planning: Plays a key role in financial strategy, cost control, and process enhancements. Accuracy & Decision-Making: Provides critical financial insights with a direct impact on operations and profitability. Communication & Supervision: Collaborates with leadership, provides financial reporting, and ensures compliance. Confidentiality & Compliance: Handles sensitive financial information and ensures regulatory adherence. Physical & Working Conditions: Office-based role with minimal physical demands.

In this role, you will oversee cost accounting functions, ensure financial compliance, and provide strategic insights to business leaders. Responsibilities include cost estimation, financial planning, and process improvements.
1. Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment.

- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, government contract requirements, and corporate policies.
2. Cost Accounting
- Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems and procedures.
- Prepare cost estimates for new products, special projects, and operational improvements.
- Analyze cost variances and provide insights to optimize financial performance.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Ensure the integrity of financial statements related to cost accounting.
3. Government Contracts
- Manage cost structures for government and research institute contracts.
- Ensure compliance with cost reimbursement, fixed-price, and incentive-based contract requirements.
- Review bids and proposals to align with company policies and financial goals.
- Identify potential contract risks and provide recommendations.
4. Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
- Assist in the development of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Prepare financial reports and variance analyses for executive leadership.
- Provide strategic insights into key business drivers and financial trends.
- Support capital investment analysis and product line profitability reviews.
- Partner with business leaders to optimize financial performance.
5. Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for efficiency gains in cost accounting and financial reporting.
- Develop and enhance internal controls related to financial operations.
- Lead initiatives to improve cost estimation, reporting accuracy, and compliance.
- Conduct annual physical inventory reviews and analyze cycle count adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (required).
- 10+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in cost accounting (required).
- Experience with government or institutional contracts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required).
- Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP systems is a plus.
