Job Overview
Type of position: Temporary full time (Maternity leave replacement)
Shift: day from Monday to Friday
Salary: $29.93 to $54.91 per hour according to years of experience.
We are looking for a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic pediatric rehabilitation team!
The Shriners Hospitals for Children - Canada provides exceptional care to children and youth with complex orthopedic and neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team to provide the best possible care. You will work in both in-patient and out-patient settings alongside 2 experienced OTs and a certified hand therapist (CHT) who will facilitate your integration in this specialized hospital.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
Member of l'ordre des ergothrapeutes du Qubec
Experience working with neuro-musculoskeletal clientele required
Two (2) years of experience in pediatric rehabilitation - an asset Skills and competencies
Bilingualism, French and English, written and spoken
Able to work in an interdisciplinary team, to collaborate with a focus on complementarities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Creative, resourceful, able to problem solve
Excellent sense of responsibility and priorities
Ability to adapt to changes, to name issues perceived (e.g. success factors and constraints / barriers to be considered)

- Evaluating and treating upper extremity function and independence in children and youth complex orthopedic and neuro-musculoskeletal conditions.
- Fabricating orthoses
- Planning the safe discharge home after orthopedic surgeries
- Supporting and guiding families throughout the care process, while fostering strong partnerships with community and external resources.
