Job Description
Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Specialty: Phlebotomy
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8H Nights, 10 p.m. - 6:30 a.m., alternating weekends, first to float
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years
License: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) II
Certifications: BLS, Certified Phlebotomy Technician via AAH Certificate
Must-Have:
- Cerner experience
- CPT II and California license for drawing ABGs
- Experience with LIS systems such as Polytech, Avalon, Orchard Software, Apollo, Prolis, BioTracer
- Ability to draw blood from patients of all ages

Job Description:

- Perform phlebotomy in all departments that require blood draws.
- Utilize a laptop with the Cerner Pathways application.
- Comply with hospital shift scheduling, as self-scheduling is not allowed.
- Meet weekend and holiday work requirements.
- Adhere to the red scrub color/dress code.
- Participate in department-specific orientation.
- Understand that the hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Use the Cerner charting system.
