Overview

Presbyterian is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. The RN will provide specialized, high-quality care to critically ill or premature newborns, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to support families during a challenging time.

Type of Opportunity: Full Time (0.9 FTE/36 hours per week)

Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing
State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
NRP and PALS after time of hire

Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining specialized equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.
Perform detailed assessments of neonates physical and emotional health, identifying any changes in condition and responding promptly.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Provide parental education and emotional support, fostering a family-centered care approach to help parents understand their baby's condition and participate in their care.
Utilize advanced NICU technology and equipment to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care.
Assist in preparing neonates for procedures or surgeries and provide post-procedure care.
Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the NICU environment is clean and safe.
