SummaryWe are looking for a senior manager, external communications with a focus on corporate strategies and media relations. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic external communications programs and media relations strategy. Collaborating closely with team members across Bell, you will drive communications programs that generate measurable results.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive external communications plans to support key priorities and initiatives that enhance and protect the corporate reputation of Bell
- Develop media relations strategies; establish and maintain positive media relationships, act as a company spokesperson and be the first point of contact including some after-hours duties
- Lead a team of 1-2 communications professionals while working closely with other Bell Communications team members on key initiatives
- Support Bell executives with communications expertise and advise, including spokesperson preparation
- Develop communications materials including press releases, key messages, briefing materials and backgrounders
- Apply exceptional judgement to anticipate and effectively manage organizational risks and issues
- Stay up-to-date on evolving economic, political, regulatory and social issues that affect Bells business across the country
- Identify new opportunities and fresh ways to communicate about Bell to its audiences
- Monitor and measure communications impact for key activities
- 6-8 years of progressive experience in public relations / media relations
- Previous experience leading a small team
- Experience in a complex, issues-driven organization
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across a variety of vehicles
- Demonstrated success at driving effective external communications campaigns and programs
- Can apply strategic thinking to issues management and crisis comms
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and deliver quality communications with tight deadlines
- Experience with a technology or telecoms company an asset
