Senior Platform Software Engineer - CI/CD

At Zoox, we're developing cutting-edge autonomous vehicle software for our purpose-built robotaxi. We believe our integrated approach leads to faster market delivery and superior customer experience. As a CI/CD Platform Engineer, you'll design and implement scalable solutions that enhance our end-to-end development and release lifecycle. Your work will be crucial in empowering our engineers to rapidly develop and deliver safety-critical autonomous vehicle software and services.

In this role, you will:

• Building innovative solutions for large-scale quality, reliability, and safety checks for autonomous software, web applications, and mobile apps using Bazel, modern CI/CD systems in a mono repo
• Improving speed and reliability of software delivery processes
• Partner with cross-functional teams to evolve our CI/CD platform, ensuring it meets diverse engineering workflows and requirements.
• Eliminating development inefficiencies and bottlenecks

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver a seamless CI/CD experience that enhances developer workflows, providing an effortless "golden path" for platform usage.
• Drive continuous improvement in platform functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Implement and analyze metrics to measure platform effectiveness and developer experience, driving data-informed improvements.
• Collaborate with other software teams to understand their needs, address pain points, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
• Collaborate with SRE teams to ensure the platform and its dependencies maintain high reliability and availability standards.

Qualifications:

• Experience with developer productivity tools and CI/CD platforms (such as Jenkins, Buildkite, and ArgoCD)
• Experience developing web services using modern technology stacks (Python, Postgres, etc.)
• Solid understanding of containerization, microservices, and distributed systems
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience working with large mono repo environments
• Expertise in Bazel, SQLAlchemy, and FastAPI

Compensation

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $165,000 to $264,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
