The Pleasant Hill R-III Board of Education is seeking qualified applicants for the position of

High School Assistant Principal

The Pleasant Hill School District is currently seeking an Assistant High School Principal who can:
  • Assist the Principal in all areas of responsibility associated with the high school.
  • Assist the Principal in overseeing curriculum implementation and alignment.
  • Promote a school climate which includes high expectations for students and staff along with fostering a productive and collaborative working environment in which effective instruction can take place.
  • Assist the Principal in supporting Professional Learning Communities across the departments.
  • Support Positive Behavior Interventions Support (PBIS) at the building level.
  • Work with teachers to enhance instructional strategies.
  • Work with central office, building administrators, and staff members in the school to evaluate and enhance instructional and co-curricular programs.
  • Maintain high visibility throughout the school by spending time in classrooms and attending school events.
  • Monitor and evaluate student attendance and discipline data.
  • Work with other assistant principal(s) in serving as the school leader in the absence of the principal.
  • Provide supervision of students during the school day and during school events.


Interested candidates should possess:
  • Strong work-ethic and ability to solve problems in a productive manner
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make quality decisions in accordance with Board policy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Valid Missouri State School Principal Certification
  • A minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience
  • Exhibit a passion for working with students at the high school level

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Degree in Administration, Administrator experienced preferred, minimum of three years of successful high school teaching experience,

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate and Valid Missouri Administrator Certificate.

Contract Length: 208 Days

Salary Range: $89,000.00 - $99,000.00 based on experience
