Responsibilities
Performs history and physical examinations and carries out appropriate intervention/procedures as determined by the plan of care. Coordinates care of assigned patients according to Northside Hospital established Standards of Care.
Northside Hospital BMT APP Role
APPs in the BMT program typically work with oncologists, hematologists, and transplant specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing bone marrow and stem cell transplants. Their responsibilities may include:

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
A college degree as a Physician's Assistant from a recognized university, affiliated with a medical school Please refer to the Medical Staff Guidelines for certifications and credentialing applicable to this position.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED
Five (5) years of Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology APP or Intensivist APP strongly preferred.

Northside Hospital BMT APP Role
APPs in the BMT program typically work with oncologists, hematologists, and transplant specialists to provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing bone marrow and stem cell transplants. Their responsibilities may include:
- Managing pre- and post-transplant care
- Performing patient assessments, physical exams, and treatment planning
- Coordinating with hematology/oncology teams
- Monitoring for complications such as graft-versus-host disease (GVHD)
- Providing education and support to patients and families
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts (nights) in an ICU setting
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- High-acuity patient population with continuous monitoring and rapid intervention
