Must-Have:

- Knowledge in all aspects of diagnostic and/or interventional angiographic procedures.
- Competence in using diagnostic and interventional modalities, including intravascular ultrasound, fractional flow reserve, intra-aortic balloon pump, and mechanical thrombectomy.

Job Description:

- Engage in communication that is suitable for diverse patient populations.
- Understand growth and development milestones and provide clear instructions to patients and their families regarding treatments.
- Involve family or guardians in patient assessment, initial treatment, and ongoing care.
- Identify and address any physical limitations of patients, deploying interventions when necessary.
- Recognize and appropriately respond to patients and families with behavioral health issues.
- Interpret population-related data and plan care accordingly, addressing unique psychological needs or those related to religious or cultural norms.
- Perform treatments, administer medications, and operate equipment safely.
- Recognize and respond to signs or symptoms of abuse or neglect.

General Responsibilities:

- Inspect and prepare radiologic equipment, troubleshooting as necessary, and report malfunctions.
- Follow up on equipment problems until resolved.
- Produce hard copies of images as needed and maintain archival storage of digitized data.

Clinical Responsibilities:

- Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions and respecting their rights, privacy, and property.
- Administer contrast media under MD supervision and assist in obtaining necessary images.
- Demonstrate compliance with infection control guidelines and hand hygiene policies, and utilize personal protective equipment and standard precautions effectively.
- Maintain sterile techniques while preparing trays and draping patients.
- Show knowledge of emergency procedures and respond appropriately during emergencies.
- Monitor radiation exposure and regulate dose time and intensity, notifying the MD of prolonged exposure.
- Report to radiation physicist as per hospital policy.
- Monitor contrast usage during procedures, keeping the MD informed.
- Demonstrate proper hemostasis techniques, including manual pressure and vascular closure devices.
- Maintain competence and certification in point-of-care testing.
- Be knowledgeable in using and troubleshooting equipment for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease.

Documentation Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate knowledge of hemodynamic parameters and monitoring.
- Accurately document procedure chronology, hemodynamic waveforms, and calculate values.
- Promptly notify team members of any cardiac rhythm disturbances or pressure abnormalities.

Professional Development:

- Participate in continuing education activities to promote professional growth.
- Engage in unit activities or hospital committees to improve patient care and work processes.
- Collaborate with cardiology fellows to support the institution's academic mission.
- Precept students and other healthcare team members to enhance their learning experiences.
- Engage in ongoing education and training for cultural and language-appropriate service delivery.
- Stay current with changes in technology and patient care through attending in-services, journal clubs, and reading professional journals.
