Description:

  • Responsible for the management of the Security functions at all sites, total staff compliment of 16 employees.
  • Appointed as the Joint Planning Committee (JPC) Chairperson for Boskop, i.t.o. the National Key Points Act.
  • Ensuring the implementation and adherence to the applicable legislation, minimum physical security standards and applicable RDM Security policies and procedures.
  • Conducting Threat & Security Risk Assessments and implementation of actions to mitigate risks at the respective sites.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with the Facility Security Clearance (FSC) audits by Armscor.
  • Undertake and oversee the Armscor Vetting process within RDM.
  • Management of the SLA's with the security providers at all sites (value: R17.6 million).
  • Management of the maintenance SLA's within the Security dept.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans for special events held on site.
  • Ensure all physical security measures are in good condition and up to NKP standards.
  • Member of the RDM Security Committee.
  • Represent RDM at the Gauteng Security Officers liaison forum and other delegated forums.
  • Implement security awareness campaigns.
  • Security Screening of Foreign visitors to RDM sites.
  • Report and investigate all security related incidents within RDM.
  • Appointed as Responsible person for RDM in terms of the control of all security firearms and ammunition according to the NKP Act and Fire arms Control Act.
  • Manage and oversee RDM shooting ranges to comply with NRCS Standards.
  • Co-ordinate the maintenance of security vehicles, fences, radios, weapons, access control, paging and alarms systems.
  • Member of the Sector Policing and Rural protection management of the area.
  • Manage and Maintain the JOC Radio Control Centre.
  • Review the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans.
  • Co-ordinate Emergency Evacuation Drill and the activation of the Joint Operations Centre.
  • General personnel management e.g., discipline, performance management, leave and overtime according to company rules.
  • Formulate and manage department & budget expenses (Approx., value R29million per annum.


WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • NQF 6 in Security Management or equivalent qualification.
  • NQF 7 in Security Management or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
  • PSIRA Grade A Certificate.
  • Management of Security Services at a NKP site would be advantageous.
  • Additional Security related course would be advantages.
  • At least 5-7 years' experience in the Management of Security Services/security guarding contract/service providers.
  • At least 3-5 years should have been in personnel management.
  • Experience in conducting Security Threat/Risk Assessments
  • Firearms Competency: Handgun (minimum)
  • Security Incident Investigation Course (advantageous).
  • Fully computer literate and ability to work on different quality / statistical / MS Office Software / SAP.
  • Driver's license (CODE B)
  • High ethical standards.
  • Professional and well groomed.
  • Good communicator (verbal/non-verbal) with strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Effective decision maker with good problem-solving skills.
  • Conflict handling and resolution skills.
  • Mature, driven, confident, self-motivated and results orientated.
