Duties:
- Provide individual occupational therapy assessment and individual and group treatment to referred adult clients within the day hospital service
- Partner with clients in the development of their recovery goals
- Work with clients and care team in the identification of resources in community to promote transition from hospital services and reintegration to community
- Work alongside other Occupational Therapists within the Integrated Schizophrenia Recovery Program in the provision of occupational therapy groups across the program
- Work with OT support personnel and clients on achieving their goals
- Liaise with families, support networks and SDM's
- Contribute to the interdisciplinary treatment planning.
- Provide vocational assessment and rehabilitation planning as necessary.
- Attend clinical, program and OT discipline meetings as required.
- Liaise with appropriate community agencies as required.
- Provide student supervision.
- Enter workload measurement data according to hospital policies.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, to program and to the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario's standard of practice.
- Provide programming and services on days, evenings, weekends (shift premium will apply).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.

Qualifications:
- Master of Science Occupational Therapy (MSc(OT)) or equivalent according to the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Member of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Membership in CAOT and/or OSOT preferred.
- Occupational therapy experience, preferably with adults with serious mental illness.
- Experience working with adult psychiatric population is preferred.
- Experience in motivational interviewing and CBT is an asset
- Experience with developing and leading psycho-educational and therapeutic groups is essential.
- Experience with recovery based programs for the seriously mentally ill is preferred.
- Willingness to work variable hours, evenings and weekends
- Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, critical thinking and goal setting skills.
- Group leadership and facilitation experience and skills.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Knowledge of applicable legislated acts (i.e. MHA, The Health Care Consent Act).
- Ability to work independently and sound clinical judgment.
- Experience in community consultation is an asset.
- Ability to work in a team; establish and maintain good working relations.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
Salary Range: $40.36 to $56.30 per hour
