Job Title- Engineer - Test II
Location- Kent, WA, 98032
Duration- 6+ Months

Job Description:
A shift: Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm

Responsibility:
Will write a work order for completing a test, and then run the test multiple times to work out the bugs.
Will train technicians on how to take over and run tests.
The role: Write work instructions, help the technicians, edit the work instructions and then make the test more manufacturable.
Seeking Level II (one year) and Level III (three plus years) engineers.
Will set up instrumentation and automation.
A dynamics background is helpful.
Must be able to run multiple projects at a time.
The first couple of weeks will be spent being trained by the current test engineers.
Team size: There are 52 technicians over the three shifts.
Interview: 12 hour phone screen, a one-on-one meeting with a manager and then a 20-minute PowerPoint presentation to a panel.
There is potential to go contract to perm in this role.
OT is potential for this role.
Candidates should be able to develop testing procedures.
Candidates should have a background in mechanical engineering.
Aerospace experience is not required for this role.
Experience with MatLAB and LabVIEW is a big plus, as is Dewesoft and python.
Level III: 4 openings
Level II: 6 openings
Creo or other 3D CAD experience is a plus.
Candidates should have a BS degree.

Qualifications:
B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant field.
3+ years of experience in component testing and data analysis.
Demonstrated technical expertise in design, operation, testing, or production of pressurized (up to 6000 psi), cryogenic, actuated, and/or hydraulic systems.
Experience with sensors and instrumentation (pressure transducers, accelerometers, etc.), data acquisition, and automation systems.
Familiarity with precision clean hardware and systems.
Exposure to thermal and vibration testing.
Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and level of organization.
Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor.
Successfully managed simultaneous project schedules.
Passion for spaceflight and space exploration.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion

Desired:
Applicable industry experience (launch vehicles, satellites, aircraft, motorsports, oil & gas).
Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, actuators, servo-valves, and fittings.
Experience with design & fabrication of test fixturing and tooling.
Independent operation of thermal and vibration testing.

Interview- If they pass the phone screen, have a one hour interview with a panel consisting of one NGCT Manager, one NGCT Test Engineer, and DJ (or someone from his team). Candidates should come prepared to talk about one professional project that is applicable to Aerospace Component testing. High pressure pneumatic or hydraulic systems (~5000 psi), Cryogenic test experience (~-320 F), Data acquisition and any instrumentation experience. Candidates won't need to prepare a presentation per se, but any visual references would be very useful. This discussion will be limited to 15 minutes of "presentation".

Pre Screen Questions
1. Outline the considerations for scaling acceptance testing of a basic solenoid valve to rate. Assume you need to progress from 3 valves per month to 100 valves per month in the next 16 weeks.
2. How would you set up a simple pressure test to conduct it safely? What equipment would you use?
3. Provide an example of when you came up with a creative solution to a technical challenge.
