As a Sr. HR Business Partner on the Amazon Advertising People eXperience and Technology (PXT) team, you will provide HR generalist support to a population of tech and non-tech employees and business leaders. This role provides the opportunity to do a variety of strategic work in an environment that encourages both independent initiative and collaborative teamwork. You will partner with business leaders to deliver HR initiatives focused on internal customer service, employee onboarding, talent management, and employee engagement. You will understand the importance of accurate and timely HR metrics as well as their inputs and impacts.

To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and translate them into the highest impact work. You'll help business leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations that improve organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and talent development. You will drive strategic initiatives related to organizational design and effectiveness, culture, inclusion, and other opportunities that you uncover. You will support and develop senior management to be effective Amazon leaders and culture champions.

Key job responsibilities

The role is both a strategic and hands on role including improving organizational effectiveness & design, leading change management, providing leadership coaching and driving HR functional excellence. Successful candidates will also demonstrate:
\tPartner with business leaders to formulate people and organization strategy, mitigate risks, and drive results in a dynamic and often ambiguous high growth environment.
\tWork with line managers and employees to address various employee relations issues, operating as a fact finder.
\tUse data and metrics to identify trends, anticipate business needs, and implement action plans focused on employee experience and organizational health.
\tAbility to write strategic narratives (e.g. organizational health, talent planning, etc.) that directly affect the business to propose people-focused solutions and drive business outcomes.
\tCreative problem solving that works backwards from the end customer and the business client.
\tThe ability to think big but also not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves."
\tThe ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while continually moving initiatives forward.
\tMust be able to interface at executive levels of the organization.
\tCoaching and mentoring at executive management levels.
\tSuccess in creating and driving effective career development, retention, and recognition programs.
\tBeing an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create meaningful client relationships.

A day in the life

A typical day in this role involves providing strategic and tactical leadership direction, executing on people initiatives, providing internal customer support, advising and coaching employees and leaders through development and performance matters, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. This role operates with autonomy and requires discretion and a hands-on approach to monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of engagement. The Sr. HRBP routinely partners with leaders at multiple levels of the organization to develop forward-looking strategies and goals focused on the employee experience and operational objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
\tBachelor's degree
\t7+ years in an HR leadership role
\tAbility to deal well with ambiguous situations - comfort making high judgement calls and recommendations without always having clear-cut guidelines or precedents to follow
\tExperience in driving change
\tExperience writing research papers and conducting exploratory research studies
\tAnalytical skills. Experience using and presenting data to make decisions.
\tProven track record of partnering with senior business leaders
\tExperience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
\tExperience working in a high-tech environment supporting start-up businesses
\tStrong analytical capabilities - the ability to identify the right people metrics and implement solutions to drive positive change
\tExperience driving change at scale

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $193,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
