Position Overview
Resumes are being accepted for the position of Community Investment Specialist with Equity and Community Investment. Reporting to the Manager, Equity and Community Investment, the candidate will support the City's community investment programs including the Community Grant, emergent funding programs including the Youth Climate Action Fund, and other community investment programs including the Community Benefit Agreement program.

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m and 4:30 p.m. This position is eligible for hybrid and flexible work arrangement options (as per current corporate policy).
Pay/Salary
Non-Union Grade 4: $75,289.76- $94,112.20

Position Overview

- Support implementation of the Community Grant program annual funding cycles from program launch to reporting.
- Support the Grants Allocation working group of residents to make informed and transparent funding recommendations on behalf of the City.
- Support implementation of new Community Investment programs (including the Youth Climate Action Fund) as they emerge.
- Help with day-to-day operations of the Community Benefit Agreement program including gathering and tracking of payments, forms and agreements, and supporting sharing of information across departments.
- Implement changes to the Community Benefit Agreement program and tools.
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on outcomes from investment programs.
- Connect with external organizations and cultural groups supporting the implementation of the Community Investment Strategy.
- Participate at external stakeholder roundtables and committees related to community investment.
- Regularly access and share sensitive information related to program evaluation and organizational monitoring.
- Regularly work with departments and other funders on sensitive and confidential matters that impact Guelph residents.
- Support other City department's participation at various levels of the program development and implementation.
- Participate in networking, information and learning events to promote Community Investment programs.
- Support the creation and distribution of information, materials, and applications to ensure stakeholder participation in investment programs.
- Work with online granting tools to support the creation of application and reporting forms.
- Work with webservices to ensure web content related to Community Investment is up to date.
- Identify and recommend program improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and requirements
- Experience related to the duties listed above, normally acquired through the completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in social science, arts, or a related field and 2+years professional experience in program management in areas of funding and grant program administration and community investment.
- Experience working with external organizations and cultural groups to build positive, mutually beneficial, and strategic partnerships.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential municipal information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to multi-task, work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, council, not-for-profits and the general public.
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point).
- Knowledge of innovative municipal funding programs would be an asset.
- Knowledge of AODA accessible document preparation would be an asset.
- Candidates with an equivalent education and experience may be considered.
