Commercial Estimating Manager

The Estimating Manager will undertake the compilation of complex cost estimates, and other detailed costing information as part of the estimating function in support of change, costing, pricing and tendering activities.

Creation and compilation of complex cost estimates for bids and projects in line with business and estimating processes.

Position Duties And Responsibilities

• Compilation of accurate and timely material estimates via supply chain interaction and the use of historic information.
• Manage and develop junior members of staff
• Compilation of accurate and timely labour estimates using experience, knowledge, historic data and via interaction with key stakeholders.
• Review inputs and ensure these are in line with the scope of work.
• Develop and maintain relationships, liaise and interact with key project related stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain relationships, liaise and interact with key project related stakeholders.
• Provide frequent feedback to the senior estimating manager, the bid team and/or other key stakeholders
• Provide data and information, as required, for internal reviews, meeting and in support to cost investigation and negotiations.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

• Qualified to A Level, ONC/HNC standard or similar as a minimum, preferably in Business Studies, Finance, Engineering or Mathematics.
• Has excellent numeracy skills.
• Has good I.T. Skills, in particular Microsoft Excel.
• Has the ability to make evaluative judgements using attention to detail and an analytical mind-set.
• Has good communication skills.
