Position Overview
Product Managers take full life cycle responsibility for the assigned Cespira Products to optimize their value to the business and ensure that the strategy, vision and profitability for these Products align with the overall Cespira business strategy and vision. The Product Manager drives the cross functional activities of the Product Teams across all the product variants, balancing the needs of the Customers and the Business by working in collaboration with the Program Teams. They work in collaboration with Commercial to secure customer commitment, charter new product activities, to set and maintain Product pricing and provide input to marketing and training plans.

Position Overview

Position Responsibilities
Product Roadmap:
- Own the overall roadmap for the Product that ties in all Program milestones and is aligned with the overall business strategy. Communicate the Product Roadmap to the Product Teams and assign objectives.
- Lead cost management strategies across the product lifecycle, from concept design to production, ensuring the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality fuel system components.
- Identify technology development needs and priorities, propose (and justify) new product development projects, and identify product obsolescence needs.
- Monitor technological advancements, competitive intelligence, market and regulatory trends that could improve or impact the Product.
- Obtain and consolidate customer feedback regarding their products and ensure it is incorporated into the product planning and development process.
Product Business Case:
- Work closely with senior leadership to develop business cases for new or existing products, balancing cost optimization with technical feasibility and customer requirements in the HPDI Fuel system market.
- Manage the value chain of the Product by working with the cross functional Product Team to optimize.
- Set cost & price targets, aligned with business and product financial objectives.
- Prepare and present monthly product-specific financial reports and other key metrics, working in conjunction with Commercial and Finance teams.
- Maintain Product cost models to evaluate material, production, and overhead costs, ensuring alignment with profitability targets in a low-volume production setting.
- Monitor product cost performance, identify deviations, and proactively implement corrective measures to meet financial objectives.
Project Quoting & Requirements:
- Generate Scope of Work (SOW) documents for new Product development/change projects.
- Provide quotations to Program Teams for new Product developments / changes.
- Support Program Teams and Commercial in securing customers and new business by providing Product information, technology assessments, cost guidance and quotations and provide input into marketing and training material.
- Partner with procurement and manufacturing teams to evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate competitive pricing, and implement cost-efficient production methods while maintaining product quality and supply chain resilience.
Product Development Execution:
- Develop and maintain the Global Product Features for the assigned Product by assessing and collating customer technical requirements (VOC - Voice Of Customer) from the Technical Program Leads and balancing with the needs of the business and its strategic goals (VOB - Voice Of Business).
- Approval of the Product maturity status (E/D/L/P/O).
- Approval of Product changes.
- Address urgent issues escalated by the Product Team, by taking decisions for the Products prioritizing activities and removing roadblocks.
- Responsible for delivering the Products to the Program Teams.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Promote Cespira's H&S culture by leading by example in relation to Environmental, H&S policies and procedures and understand your obligations and responsibilities as it relates to applicable H&S Acts and Regulations
- Enforce Cespira's H&S policies and procedures, encourage safe work practices, correct unsafe acts or conditions, conduct formal and informal workplace inspections
- Immediately respond to, investigate and take action from reports of unsafe conditions and/or behaviors
Position Requirements
What we need:
- Leadership experience in cost optimization and strategic product management, preferably in low-volume or niche manufacturing sectors.
- Proven ability to drive cost efficiencies within fuel delivery products, or related complex mechanical systems.
- Expert in HPDI 2.0 & 3.0 systems and products.
- Strong business acumen.
- Command of technical concepts and the modern Product life cycle and Product delivery.
- Strong knowledge of necessary cross functional activities at each step of a Product's life cycle.
- Ability to lead, inspire, a diverse cross functional Product team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment by exerting influence and sharing their product vision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly and persuasively to various stakeholders.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to make informed decisions quickly, especially in high-pressure situations or when data is incomplete.
- Deep understanding and empathy for customer needs, with a focus on creating products that deliver genuine value and solve real problems.
- Capacity to adapt to changing priorities, embrace new challenges, and pivot strategies as needed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent understanding of Engineering Change Management system.
- Ability to travel internationally.
