Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- +5 years of relevant and progressive professional experience in accounting. Healthcare experience is preferred
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with Sage Intacct is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with a practical ability to apply standards in day-to-day accounting practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Dedicated to maintaining a high degree of integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- CPA certification preferred
Performance Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead and coordinate external audits or reviews.
- Communicate effectively with external parties, responding to inquiries and providing necessary documentation.
- Assist the accounting manager or controller in preparing documents and interpreting complex financial information for upper management or external sources.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, financial statements, and budget variance analysis.
- Record journal entries accurately and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions as required or assigned.
- Assist in the preparation and review of accounting reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Monitor and resolve reconciliation issues, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to relevant standards and company policies.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain financial data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with relevant company policies, accounting standards, and tax regulations related to depreciation.
- Collaborate with other departments or property managers to ensure accurate lease data and accuracy of payments with lease agreements.
- Identify and communicate areas of weakness, discrepancies, or inconsistencies in financial data or processes to management on a timely basis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions to address issues, ensuring continuous improvement and maintaining financial integrity.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Contribute to the implementation of new accounting standards, systems, programs, or procedures.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and testing of various processes & controls.
- Gather, analyze, and present summarized accounting information for specific accounts or groups of accounts.
- Provide regular updates to management on processes, challenges, and key milestones, ensuring alignment with team goals and proactive resolutions of any issues.
- Collaborate with various teams to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Participate in special projects and other initiatives that require financial analysis and reporting.
- Provide assistance and/or training to other team members on accounting procedures and best practices.
- Provide accounting guidance and assistance to non-finance teams.
- Prepare financial reporting requests to external or internal groups monthly.
- Support other departments or team members as required or assigned.
- Takes full responsibility for assigned tasks, effectively managing time to meet deadlines while consistently delivering high-quality work.
