- Experience with General IR cases
- Scrubbing and panning simultaneously
- Comfort with charging/coding for procedures preferred but not required
Job Description:
- Work at a Level III Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Magnet Designation
- Facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center with 933 beds
- Department is staffed 24/7 with an adult patient population; no pediatric cases
- Perform a variety of General IR procedures including kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, central line/piccs/ports, fistulograms, IVC filter, nephrostomy tubes, nephroureteral stents, peripheral leg cases, coil embolization, thoras/paras; support CT Room with procedures like cryos, CT biopsies, drains, etc.; AAA intervention experience is preferred
- Neuro IR experience is preferred, not required, to handle cases such as strokes, DSA, embolization, WADA test, and spinal angios; travelers will take Neuro Call only with Neuro experience, else General IR call will be assigned
- Approximately 40-50 patients seen per day on average
- Support provided by one coordinator, one Nurse Educator, two Leads and two Charge Nurses, Tech specialists, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, and 24/7 Hospitalist
- Tools and technology include EMR: EPIC, IV pumps: Alaris, Medication dispensing: Pyxis, PACS: Change Healthcare, Siemens and GE equipment (experience preferred), MedRad Injector, and other equipment like IVUS, GE Ultrasound, Laser, Bovie, and Angiojet
- Orientation with a preceptor for 1-2 weeks with checked-off competence
- Call schedule: Weekday call (Monday - Thursday) usually one call shift per week, EOS until the following day at 0700; Weekend call (Friday-Sunday) once every 5th weekend, EOS Friday until Monday at 0700
- Manager open to altering shift times and offers flexible scheduling with consultation
- Holiday work is currently limited and would be call-only if required
- Scrub color provided
