The Sales Account Manager uses existing business contacts and creates and develops ongoing business relationships with new and existing customers in the monogastric livestock sector. This role focuses on building and expanding our customer base of mid to large size accounts in order to achieve our Animal Nutrition business growth and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the customer base in the monogastric livestock space like poultry and swine.


  • Create, develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty, including strengthening company brand and positioning.


  • Perform and coordinate necessary field sales activities, including product demonstrations and technical support.


  • Manage sales activities to achieve maximum sales and profit performance of the key feed additives in the portfolio.


  • Stay current with customer and competitor changes, and industry trends. Devise sales plans and strategies to increase market share.


  • Handle complex issues independently while escalating the most complex to appropriate staff. Collaborate with other departments and team members.


  • Develop and maintain competence in product line and provide product training to stakeholders.


  • Travel as required


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in animal science and/or business with comprehensive understanding and experience of animal nutrition.


  • 8 to 10 years sales experience in monogastric animal nutrition or health and strong understanding of markets/customers.


  • Requires significant travel in North America and possibly occasional travel to Latin America; approximately 50 to 80% travel


  • Experience selling a disciplined sales process and documented CRM system.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 to 15 years of sales experience in monogastric animal nutrition or health industry.


  • Possess solid relationships with nutritionists, producers, feed mills, consultants and distributors at/for major accounts.


  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
