BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the guidance and direction of the Executive Director, supports the Office of Investigations, Compliance, and Accountability by assisting in the resolution of complaints. Examines and conducts complex and highly sensitive administrative investigations regarding alleged employee misconduct and allegations related to student safety including violence against children, bullying/harassment and egregious acts involving district staff.

Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to a degree in criminal justice, paralegal studies, human resources, business administration, or related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience. Experience conducting personnel investigations that demonstrates professional level knowledge of practices, methods, and techniques. Prior experience in government or public agency is preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).

- Assist in the investigative process of complex and highly sensitive investigations regarding allegations of employee misconduct by certificated and classified personnel and allegations related to student safety including allegations of violence against children, bullying/harassment and egregious acts involving district staff. - Gather information and assist in the investigative process of any violation of noncompliance with requirements of legislation and/or administrative policies and procedures pertaining to programs administered by the District. E
- Assist investigative staff gather facts from all sources to establish the extent and nature of the allegation. E
- Review documents, reports, online databases in connection with investigations. E
- Perform investigative research through subscriber services. E
- Communicate with district staff to resolve issues and exchange information. E
- Be able to work with uncooperative and potentially hostile individuals using accepted investigative techniques.E
- Conduct fair and impartial fact-finding interviews of interested parties and witnesses to include staff, students, parents and general public.E
- Prepare and maintain detailed records of activities. E
- Assist in the preparation of factual and impartial investigation reports and summaries. E
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable provisions of federal, state, and district laws, rules, and regulations. E
- Consult with outside agencies including, social services, law enforcement staff, including school police, as necessary. E
