Compensation Range: $110,000 - $130,000 yearly commensurate with experience

Overview:

The Senior Managing Director (SMD) of Housing is responsible for the integrity and clinical supervision of all programs within the department. The SMD is responsible for managing the departments contracts to ensure that deliverables are met, and the goals of the contracts are satisfied.

Responsibilities:

Primary:
  • Provide formal, documented clinical supervision of the Supportive and Affordable Housing Program Directorial Staff on at least a bi-weekly basis to ensure that all programs contracted deliverables are achieved, budgets are effectively managed, and quality services are delivered.

Secondary:
  • Analyze the programs for cost efficiencies.

KPIs:
  • All Supportive Housing Department program contracts will meet funding and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage PS and OTPS budget lines that apply to client services, including petty cash, recreation, and staffing.

Other Functions Include:
  • Strategically assist the department with chart documentation as our eIcare liaison to Housing Works; formatting reports to best ensure contractual compliance and successful delivery of client services.
  • Ensure that clinical files are maintained as per regulatory requirements.
  • Take the lead with the monitoring of core clinical deliverables as well as agency initiatives around value-based payments.
  • Work with Vice President of Supportive and Affordable Housing Operations to prepare annual budgets.
  • Participate in monthly Contract Variance Meetings and provide input regarding spending and revenue
  • Actively take the lead with monitoring and promoting successful linkage to available internal programs.
  • Be available and on-call 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Oversee departments client rent collection efforts.
  • Ensure that staff are motivated and aligned to achieve the organizations goals and that accountability and learning systems are in place and used effectively.
  • Assist with the writing of Housing Works grant submissions.
  • Enthusiastically participate in advocacy and direct actions to end the twin crises of homelessness and HIV/AIDS.


Minimum Requirements

Education:
  • LMSW required, as well as a minimum of five years of relevant experience required in a social services setting that deals with HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental health issues, and/or substance use, and a minimum of five years providing clinical supervision and managing a team.

Qualifications:
  • Experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience providing services to people experiencing HIV/AIDS, homelessness, mental illness, and substance use/abuse disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage information, including the maintenance of complete and accurate resident files.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and administrative skills.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and strategic skills.

Competencies:
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Exemplary ability to manage multiple tasks using independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a team but also independently and accurately in a high-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal contacts and always maintain client confidentiality.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Good communication skills both verbally and written including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and a variety of stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of harm-reduction practices.

Working Conditions:
  • The Senior Managing Director of Housing position is one which requires the staff person to be present in the program site 100% of the time.
  • Occasionally expected to de-escalate tense, even hostile, client situations
