Litigation Defense Attorney (3-5+ Years) - Philadelphia, PA

Job Type: Law Firm, Direct-Hire, Full-Time, Hybrid (Center City)

Base Salary: $130,000-$160,000+ Depending on Experience, plus bonus

A well-established and highly regarded law firm in Center City, Philadelphia, PA is seeking an experienced Litigation Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team in a Hybrid role as an Associate Attorney. Key Responsibilities:
  • Litigation & Case Management: Represent defendants in trial and appellate courts, handling professional liability/malpractice claims, complex commercial litigation, and employment litigation matters.
  • Pre-Trial & Trial Work: Conduct depositions, prepare and argue motions, draft trial documents, and manage all aspects of discovery.
  • Legal Research & Analysis: Perform detailed legal research, apply strategic analysis, and communicate findings effectively to clients, attorneys, and courts.
  • Court & Client Interaction: Attend court appearances, hearings, and other legal proceedings in Pennsylvania and the surrounding region while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Technology & Legal Tools: Utilize legal research platforms such as Westlaw and document management systems like iManage to streamline casework.


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation / lawyer experience with a focus on professional liability/malpractice defense and complex commercial litigation.
  • Bar Admission: Pennsylvania (PA) Bar admission is required; New Jersey (NJ) and/or New York (NY) Bar admission is a plus.
  • Court Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Pennsylvania and Federal Court rules, local court practices, and civil filing procedures.
  • Legal Writing & Research: Excellent legal writing and research skills with the ability to analyze cases and draft persuasive arguments.
  • Time Management & Communication: Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, and convey complex legal issues clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, online legal research platforms, and case/document management systems.
