Capital Projects Coordinator

General Statement of Duties

This position closes on Monday, March 17, 2025.

Manages and leads department-specific capital projects from inception to completion and ensures alignment with County goals, policies, and regulations.; performs basic project management work under direction of a Capital Projects Manager, Senior Manager, or supervisor; working knowledge of project planning best practices; performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties

• Foundational knowledge of project management, architectural design, engineering principles, and construction practices and principles; knowledge of applicable laws, ordinances, policies, and internal practices that guide Department operations; basic knowledge of project budgeting, cost estimating, resource allocation, and fiscal management; basic ability to interpret and apply technical specifications to project execution.
• Proficient understanding of and ability to operate common and proprietary business, project, and construction software and hardware; familiarity with GIS and computer aided design (CAD) software
• Strong oral communication skills with the ability to relay complex technical information with diverse stakeholders; ability maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
• Work is performed under supervision, requiring the ability to independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workloads effectively, resolve minor project challenges, and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
• Non-supervisory. Ability to delegate tasks, provide direction, and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to work in a wide array of indoor and outdoor locations and weather conditions based on assigned job duties and operational need.
• Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to interact accurately with a diverse audience of citizens. Physical ability sufficient to perform assigned duties in an office environment and at various other duty-related locations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) year degree in related field; architecture, construction, or engineering preferred; and previous experience in project management, construction, engineering, or architecture preferred; OR, any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Additional Information

Valid driver's license to perform assigned duties in various locations.
