Description:
Strategic ACI is seeking a Lead Terrain Database Developer to join our team. Strategic ACI provides specialized systems engineering, integration, testing, and data production support to the Army Geospatial Center (AGC). The work involves developing, curating, and testing foundational 3D geospatial datasets in support of operational and prototype US Army geospatial programs.

Responsibilities :
- Coordinate with Government stakeholders to understand priorities and timelines.
- Work with Program Management Staff to develop project schedule and milestones, and assign tasking across project team to meet project objectives.
- Organize and task 3-5 team members with daily objectives, and assist with motivation, training, and technical advice.
- Utilize knowledge and skills in GIS and remote sensing applications for digital image and GIS processing, analysis, visualization and/or digital cartographic techniques.
- Develop, edit, and disseminate data for use with Army Geospatial Intelligence exploitation systems and architectures.
- Work with imagery collection, exploitation and dissemination systems and methods.
- Apply geographic knowledge to solve complex challenges related to feature creation, editing, and updating in standardized vector data schemas.
Qualifications :
Required:
- Active Secret Clearance.
- A bachelor's degree in Geography, Remote Sensing, Computer Science or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in a related field (GIS Production, GEOINT, Geospatial Systems Engineering, Modeling and Simulation, etc.).
- Experience working with LIDAR and Aerial Imagery to collect and compile data into structured databases.
- Ability to develop and present effective technical presentations.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications, graphic/visual diagram editing.
- Ability to develop and maintain individual milestones and schedules to meet program objectives.
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS Software.
- Familiarity working with LiDAR Point Clouds, Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and other 3D data sources.
- Experience deriving 3D terrain surfaces from varying levels of detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with 3D terrain formats.
Desired:
- Familiarity with QGIS.
- Experience using RUGUD and/or TerraTools to create virtual terrain simulation datasets.
- Familiarity with industry and open-source geospatial data schemas and formats (Ex. Shapefiles, Geodatabase, GeoPackage, OSM, XML, JSON, GeoJSON, etc.).
- Production process automation and enhancement.
- Scripting for data translation and process automation (Ex. Python, R, JavaScript, SQL, etc.).
- Familiarity leveraging Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Common Database (CDB) in support of simulations.
