The Engineering Manager supports the department director in planning and managing the activities and operations of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) department, and coordinates infrastructure activities and capital improvement projects. Duties include developing and implementing department goals by recommending and administering policies and procedures; managing various departmental programs, such as defining projects, creating estimates, overseeing the construction progress, and managing department budgets; responding to and resolving difficult and sensitive inquiries by general public, developers, and organizations on engineering projects and public works matters; representing the CIP Department at meetings with Planning/Zoning Commission, City Council, TIF board, and other meetings with the city or government agencies. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related degree, and five years of professional engineering experience, including two years of supervisory experience. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer design software, specifically AutoCAD. Must also have Professional Engineer's license and have, or obtain within specified timeframe, a valid Texas driver's license. A rsum must be submitted with application.
