- Work relentlessly with suppliers to improve quality, identify and execute cost reductions, capacity improvements, and risk mitigations.
- Manage supplier changes including manufacturing process changes, capacity optimization, facility changes, and new equipment qualification.
- Investigate, analyze, close, and prevent recurrence of non-conformances for purchased components from suppliers.
- Drive suppliers to continually improve their business and manufacturing process performance to meet company's requirements for supplier excellence using a collection of best practices in project management and SPC.
- Complete project and part qualification deliverables that include: FAIR, Process FMEA, Process Capability, Gage R&R, Measurement Correlation, Process Validation, and Control Plan Verification.
- Demonstrable knowledge in at least 3 of the following manufacturing processes: machined metal components, plastic molded parts, aluminum castings, electrical cables, PCAs, and motion control components (motors, brakes, sensors).
- Strong and persistent curiosity for solving technical problems in component manufacturing and inspection within our cross-functional engineering team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent ability to handle challenging technical and interpersonal situations with suppliers and internal customers.
- Practical knowledge of Part Qualification, Process FMEAs and Process Validations.
- bility to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings containing GD&T to be able to communicate technical information regarding manufacturing and inspection.
- Notable computer experience using Microsoft Office suite, Product Lifecycle Management software (e.g. Agile), and ERP software (e.g. SAP).
- BS degree in Engineering or equivalent, Master's degree preferred.
- 5 plus years of related experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred to have experience at a medical device company or capital equipment company in a different industry.
