Are you a skilled engineer with a passion for control systems and a knack for solving complex technical challenges? We are seeking a talented Field Controls Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in ensuring the successful configuration, commissioning, and startup of a wide range of projects, making you a critical player in our mission to deliver top-notch service and solutions to our industrial and manufacturing customers.

About the Role:

As a Field Controls Service Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of control system retrofitting, system migrations, and upgrades. You'll work with a variety of PLCs, HMIs, and control system applications, including ABB, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, DeltaV, and more. You'll operate as an extension of our customers' engineering teams, traveling to their sites to provide expert support during regular business hours with minimal overnight trips.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement industrial facility process automation using in-house integration methods and vendor-supplied hardware and software.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, plant managers, and engineering teams to meet project or service call requirements.
  • Work with the sales team to ensure project needs are planned, understood, and executed efficiently.
  • Provide post-project support to address any issues that may arise.
  • Operate as part of a cohesive team, supporting large projects and collaborating with other engineers, sales teams, and stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:

Sales Support:
  • Review sales proposals prior to customer presentations.
  • Act as a technical consultant on potential or future projects.

Engineering:
  • Collaborate with larger engineering groups for big projects or manage smaller projects independently.

Administrative:
  • Complete ISO paperwork for projects or service calls monthly.
  • Enter time in the engineering database weekly.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • 4-year degree in engineering, programming, or a related field, or a 2-year technical degree with equivalent experience.
  • Experience in plant process control applications and systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, Distributed Control Systems, and SCADA packages.
  • I/O checkout site experience is required.

Knowledge Requirements:
  • Industrial programming experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with reactors, distillation, combustion controls, batch applications, mixing and metering, and continuous/batch chemical production.
  • Platform programming experience with ABB, Siemens PCS7, Rockwell ControlLogix, Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa Centum, and Honeywell Experion.
  • Technical specification and design document writing skills.
