Director of International Programs & Residential Life

Full Time (12-months), Exempt, Category 3, On Site (No Remote Work)

Reports To: Head of School (Dotted Line Reporting to Vice President of Admission and COO)

Office Will Be Located in the Residential Dormitory

Primary Working Hours: 8AM-5PM, plus as needed availability

Position Overview:

The Director of International Programs and Residential Life leads a vibrant international and residential life program that supports the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of students as an active member of the leadership team focused on the ongoing pursuit of the mission of Oaks Christian School. Provide leadership to the International Programs and the Residential Life staff members, Lead Dorm Parent, and dorm parents. Be a visible and highly engaged presence on campus, modeling Christ-centered leadership and engaging with students. Must be comfortable and astute in working in a cross-cultural environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that cultivate a nurturing, supportive, and distinctly Christian community that successfully serves the needs of international students living on and off campus and ensures they can fully realize the value of attending OCS.
Collaborate closely with all school departments, such as academics, athletics, and student services, to ensure a cohesive and integrated experience for all international and residential students.
Provide leadership and oversight to the Lead Dorm Parent, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment for students, dorm parents/families, and staff.
In partnership with the OCS Spiritual Life leaders, ensure the facilitation of spiritual formation programs that deepen students' understanding of their faith and relationship with Christ.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision of a team of dorm parents who will live in the dorm to create a safe, healthy, and productive "family" environment.
Cultivate and enhance a positive relationship with international parents.
Work effectively with HR to right-size staffing requirements for effective and efficient operations.
Partner with the international team to develop and implement educational programs and policies, and ongoing support for dorm parents to ensure they are equipped to foster meaningful relationships with students and promote academic and spiritual growth.
Supervise the Lead Dorm Parent to guide dorm parents' daily interactions with students, providing guidance, feedback, and resources to help them effectively care for students.
Ensures accurate records, documentation, and matters related to student conduct, and residential life operations and effectively communicates with the HS Student Life and Spiritual Life teams.
Be available for on-call rotations and be available to respond to emergencies or student needs outside of regular business hours.
Perform other duties as assigned by the senior leadership.

Qualifications:
A personal commitment and lifestyle that demonstrates a Christ-centered, faith-based life.
A bachelor's degree in education, counseling, student affairs, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Demonstrated competency in residential life, student affairs, or a similar role in a Christian boarding school or college setting is preferred.
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage complex issues with discernment and wisdom in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills to address complex student and staff issues.
Commitment to the school's Christ-centered mission and values, and the ability to model these effectively to students.
Familiarity with residential management software such as AXIS and Reach is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff and students, including effectively managing and supporting a team of dorm parents and interfacing with parents in all global time zones.
The ability to effectively use WeChat is required.

Potential Direct Reports: Lead Dorm Parent, Dorm Parents, Host Family/Student Life Manager, Building/Program Support Staff, and others as may be assigned.
