We are eager to welcome a Director of Accounts to our team in the non-profit sector. This role will be based in Norfolk, Virginia, and will involve overseeing the Accounts, Third Party Billing, and Cashiering staff. The role will also include managing programs, developing new initiatives, and ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement short and long-term goals, policies, and operating procedures for the department
Lead the Accounts, Third Party Billing, and Cashiering staff
Manage the programs administrated by the offices
Develop and implement new initiatives to improve student customer service experience
Ensure compliance with rules and regulations that govern federal state, and institutional financial aid programs, privacy of data, taxation, and collection practices
Collaborate with the Registrar and Financial Aid partner offices to develop strategies
Use Accounting Software Systems to maintain accurate records and process transactions
Handle all aspects of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Conduct regular Auditing to ensure fiscal responsibility and compliance
Manage Billing Functions related to student accounts and third party entities
Administer Student Financial Aid in compliance with federal and institutional guidelines
Utilize Banner to manage and track student accounts and financial aid.
Requirements
Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
Must be well-versed in all Accounting Functions
Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is required
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) is a must
Proven experience in Auditing is essential
Must have a strong understanding of Billing Functions
Expertise in Student Financial Aid is compulsory
Familiarity with Banner software will be advantageous
