This role is perfect for a seasoned construction law expert who thrives on working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As our go-to legal advisor for all construction projects, you'll play a crucial role in protecting Merlin from legal and financial risks while ensuring our projects stay on track.
Your responsibilities include:

• Providing expert legal advice on major construction developments-from new rides to hotels, attractions, and cutting-edge IP collaborations.
• Managing contracts from inception to completion, reducing reliance on external counsel.
• Driving risk-based decision-making to ensure projects align with Merlin's strategic goals.
• Leading legal negotiations and resolving disputes to keep projects moving forward smoothly.
• Developing policies and training materials to standardise best practices across our teams.
• Collaborating with key stakeholders, including project delivery teams, estate teams, and external legal providers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified attorney (licensed in Florida or eligible for Authorized House Counsel status within 6 months).
• Experience in construction law (both contentious and non-contentious).
• Strong contract management skills, including standard form and bespoke construction agreements.
• Previous in-house legal experience (ideally as sole counsel or in a similar role).
• Commercially savvy with a solutions-focused mindset.
• Exceptional communicator and relationship builder across global teams.
• Flexibility to travel to live building sites when needed.

Pay Range

From USD $115,000.00/Yr.
