Experience: Five years of diversified peri-operative nursing experience with both scrubbing and circulating proficiency
License: Current licensure as an RN required
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or American Red Cross, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Must-Have: Completion of an RN First Assisting course that conforms to the Core Curriculum set forth by AORN
Job Description:
- Responsible for assisting the surgeon in the lead role until the conclusion of the operative procedure.
- Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager, Operating Room within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, covering two weekdays from the end of the shift to 7 PM and one weekend every three weeks for 24 hours each day.
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
- Ensure patient safety and maintain a sterile environment during operations.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate efficient workflow and patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to deliver excellent peri-operative care.
