Description:

The Pediatric Dentist will provide high-quality, comprehensive dental care to pediatric patients, including infants, children, and adolescents, in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. The Pediatric Dentist will deliver preventive, diagnostic, and restorative dental services while creating a positive, child-friendly environment that supports the mission of improving access to care for underserved communities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive oral examinations, including diagnostic radiographs.
Provide preventive dental services such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral health education.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients.
Perform restorative procedures including fillings, crowns, extractions, and pulpotomies.
Address dental emergencies and manage acute pediatric dental issues.
Create a supportive and calming environment to reduce patient anxiety.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure holistic patient care.
Educate patients and families on oral hygiene practices, proper nutrition, and preventive care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Participate in community outreach programs and school-based dental education initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local dental regulations and infection control protocols.

Requirements

Qualifications:
Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dentistry residency program.
Current, unrestricted state dental license.
Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD).
DEA license and CPR/BLS certification.
Experience working with children, including those with special healthcare needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to culturally competent care.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting.
Familiarity with Medicaid and sliding fee scale programs.
