We are seeking a talented L1/L2 Trading Application Support Engineer to join our team and work on the trading floor of major CIBs. The ideal candidate will know about asset classes and trading life cycle and be passionate about working in Front Office teams.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Day-to-day trade support, closely interacting with traders executing and risk managing complex products
  • Troubleshooting support issues and providing highly active support in the resolution of problems for the trading desk, managing communications to the desk regarding platform issues and resolutions
  • Ensuring accurate trade capture, event processing, representation of positions, PL & risk exposures in risk management systems
  • Liaising with global Tech and Ops counterparts on a variety of strategic initiatives - representing the business interests by providing expertise across products & systems, testing new technology rollouts, and driving enhancements to existing systems and processes
  • Performing reconciliation processes across systems to help system upgrades and maintain various systems connectivity to ensure smooth trading desk activities.
  • Technical documentation of system requirements/solutions and maintaining support run book for Production issues
  • Develop FO Business requirements according to Project needs as they come along
  • Perform various levels of testing for assigned deliverables as well as participate in formal release cycles (SIT/UAT)

Qualifications

Required skills:
  • Engineer or master's degree in computer science, IT Engineering, Finance or Quantitative finance
  • +3 years of experience in supporting FO users and resolving their daily issues
  • Knowledge of Equities, Bonds, Forex, Commodities or Derivatives and their trading lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux, SQL, Windows
  • Experience with Shell Script, SQL, Python, and willingness/ability to learn new tools/technologies.
  • Strong analytical, pricing, and conceptual skills
  • Must have logical and analytical skills, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Be detailed-oriented, a quick learner, and a self-starter
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred skills:
  • Good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, FIX protocol, routing, multicast)
  • Windows: maintain jobs, check network or shared drives, analyze memory
  • Experience with Murex, Calypso, Finastra, Ion, Orchestrade with FO functionalities/modules or similar
  • Strong understanding of the P&L concept overall and its components
