POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for controlling the financial activities of Ziegler and its subsidiaries. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, financial projects and budgeting.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, license, and education. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible
for a performance-based bonus.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for controlling the financial activities of Ziegler and its subsidiaries. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, financial projects and budgeting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the monthly activities required to close the books.
- Supervise the completion of all general ledger activities.
- Manage the consolidation of all separate entities, which includes elimination entries and proper accounting for the minority/other interests.
- Supervise the Pershing reconciliation process and the analysis of transaction activity as well as acting as a key person in the Pershing clearing relationship.
- Supervise the commission calculation for financial advisors and institutional sales and trading
- Provide the information required for external reporting.
- Draft the required quarterly and annual financial statements including the management discussion and analysis and other required financial and narrative disclosures determined by the CFO for ZCO and its subsidiaries.
- Recommend GAAP disclosure requirements for the company financial statements.
- Act as a primary liaison, providing documentation and answering questions for independent auditors and regulators.
- Perform financial analysis and financial reporting for all firm segments. This includes providing consulting assistance to business leaders on financial matters and identifying business area reports that will facilitate the evaluation of the success of various business activities and programs.
- Manage the annual budgeting process.
- Manage the tax process
- Provide administrative support in various areas, as needed
- Oversee the production of 1099s for tax reporting.
- Oversee the general ledger (Great Plains) and supporting complimentary software packages (Workplace, LeaseQuery)
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and financial reporting.
- This position requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, as well as 8+ years' experience, with experience as a Controller at a broker-dealer or financial services firm preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and regulatory designations, as determined by Compliance Dept. (Series 27)
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively manage associates in the occurrence of office moves, additions or changes, and other needed facility problem solving
- Experience managing a team
