Job Description
Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Specialty: Radiology - Diagnostics
Job Duration: 18 weeks
Shift: Mid - 8x5 - 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: One year of direct patient care work experience preferred
License: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC
Must-Have: Completion of a formal Radiology Technology Program in an AMA-approved facility
Job Description:
- Perform radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of a Radiologist.
- Coordinate daily activities, including performing examinations and related clerical duties.
- Conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and assist as needed.
- Document patient history relevant to specific procedures on requisitions submitted by physicians.
- Confirm patient identification through verbal confirmation and proof of identity validation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media as necessary.
- Consult with radiologists and other physicians when required.
- Select and operate equipment according to the demands of individual procedures and demonstrate proper anatomic positioning skills.
- Maintain appropriate records as per departmental standards.
- Work independently after the onboarding period to produce high-quality images in a fast-paced Level I trauma environment.
- Handle physical demands such as assisting patients, operating equipment, and potentially enduring changes in temperature and humidity while working.
- Possess highly effective verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well with patients, visitors, and other healthcare team members to provide optimal quality care.
- Adapt to various physical conditions such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment.
