Overview:

The Division provides primary and specialty care to children and adults with complex medical needs. Our service is holistic, family-centered, and aims to improve health outcomes by reducing fragmentation of care. The Division includes the Complex Health Care Clinic, the Comprehensive Cerebral Palsy Program, the Comprehensive Pediatric Feeding Program, and a consultative inpatient service.

The successful candidate will join an expanding division that consists of an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, dieticians, care coordinators, nurses, and a pharmacist. Opportunities exist to join any of the Division's programs, as well as other teams at Nationwide Children's Hospital.

Research, quality improvement, and education are core activities of the department. Our program is the lead site for the Cerebral Palsy Research Network. We are actively involved in improving the care for all children in Ohio through our Accountable Care Organization, Partners for Kids.

Candidates must be BC/BE in Pediatrics. Other specialists and graduating residents are welcome to apply. Academic rank is open and commensurate with experience. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, be able to think critically, have a strong medical background to provide outstanding medical care, and understand the importance of teamwork. Interest in research or education is preferred. Mentorship is available for a successful early career candidate.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:
  • Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required.
  • Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.


Education Requirement:
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
  • Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.


Licensure Requirement:
  • Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Unrestricted licensed physician, required.


Certifications:
Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.
