Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital
Job Specialty: Occupational Therapy in Acute Care Hospital
Job Duration: 12 Weeks
Shift: Day, Monday to Friday (5x8-Hour)
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum of 1 year; unit accepts first-time travelers
License: Must be licensed in the state, held at time of submission
Certifications: Certification in Lymphedema, Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must-Have: Outpatient experience and proficiency with EPIC
Job Description:
- Work in a hospital-based outpatient setting with a lymphedema patient population.
- Collaborate regularly with Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Coordinate with wound care clinic, compression fitters, and lymphedema vendors.
- Treat a diverse patient group ranging from young and middle-aged adults to geriatrics.
- Manage a mix of diagnoses including patients requiring lymphedema care.
- Potential to float within the facility or within the scope of practice as needed.
- Holidays: If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If more than one holiday falls during the assignment, the expectation is to work according to guidelines provided.
Compliance and Miscellaneous:
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in a two-week push back.
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
- Modules completed during orientation, which are recorded via transcripts.
- Must be available to submit core items and complete/schedule labs swiftly after signing the contract to ensure an on-time start.
