Summary
We are searching for a Hematology Clinical Physician -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will work collaboratively with other members of the health care team to render age-appropriate care. Practicing under established protocols, the physician assumes independent responsibilities in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of treatment and procedures.
Job Duties
Depending on the team identified duties may include:
a. Manage outpatient and/or inpatient care for designated patients in a tertiary hospital setting. Inpatient clinical time may include weekend rounds or night coverage.
b. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Attending Physicians, Hematology [1] Oncology fellows, Pediatric Residents, Advanced Practice Practitioners, Nurses and Pharmacists to provide optimal care to identified patient population.
c. Consults with patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment.
d. Education and supervision of learners to include medical students, residents and fellows.
e. Being a consultation resource to Texas Children's community hospital sites.

- Works independently to assess, diagnose, treat, and educate patients.
- Documents information in patient's chart regarding assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and
- education in an accurate, timely manner.
- Participates in site meetings and provides input to address patient care issues or operational concerns.
- Demonstrates service philosophies to patients and families
- Clinical or basic science research opportunities may be available on a case-by-case basis and may be discussed with Section leadership during the application process.

Minimum Qualifications
- Hematology/Oncology requires MD or equivalent degree from an accredited school.
- Board certified or board eligible for Pediatric Hematology-Oncology boards.
- Prior to employment start date must obtain medical license in the state of Texas.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
