About the Role:

The Director-Chief Engineer at Hampton Inn Ft Myers will play a pivotal role in overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring that all systems function efficiently and effectively. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of safety, comfort, and aesthetics for our guests, while also managing a team of skilled engineers and maintenance staff. The Director-Chief Engineer will develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Additionally, this role will involve collaborating with other departments to enhance guest experiences through facility improvements and upgrades. Ultimately, the success of this position will be measured by the operational efficiency of the hotel and the satisfaction of our guests.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the hospitality or facilities management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional engineering license or certification.
  • Experience with hotel management software and maintenance management systems.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or resort environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all hotel facilities and equipment.
  • Manage the engineering budget, including forecasting expenses and monitoring costs to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and maintenance staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and address facility-related issues that impact guest satisfaction.

The required skills for this position include strong leadership and management abilities, which are essential for guiding the engineering team and ensuring high-quality maintenance services. Technical skills in building systems are crucial for diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently, thereby minimizing downtime and enhancing guest satisfaction.
