Essential Job Functions
Ensure execution of daily operations within the department
Accountable for production, supervision and discipline of employees
Monitor and evaluate employees based on goals and standards
Enforce import/export policy and procedure compliance
Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates. Respond to & solve problems as needed
Maintain vendor relationships Train employees on job specific duties
Make suggestions and show initiative for process improvements
Effectively communicate with clients, vendors and employees
Seek the most profitable mode of shipment, yet meet client's requirement for the movement of freight.
Trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees
Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
Talking, hearing and using hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components
Sitting for extended periods of time
Walking within the warehouse and inspecting freight
Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Other Skills/Abilities
Problem solving- identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
Client Service- manages difficult client situations, responds promptly to client needs and welcome client feedback
Quality management-look for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED Required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
6 years industry experience required
3 years supervisory required

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.


California State required disclosure: Salary range for this position is between USD $71,000 and $118,000 annual.
