Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Business Analyst to join our team, specializing in payment processing with a strong emphasis on credit card systems. You will play a pivotal role in building and refining our backend payment infrastructure, focusing on areas such as refunds, charging, tokenization, and transaction processing. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical prowess, and strong communication skills to drive successful project outcomes within an Agile/Scrum environment.

What You'll Do:

• Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Lead collaborative sessions with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements related to payment processing, with a primary focus on credit card transactions.
• Conduct in-depth feasibility studies to support project planning and prioritization.
• Prioritize and focus on credit card processing expertise (refunds, charging, tokenization, transactions).
• Technical Specification & System Design: Translate intricate business requirements into comprehensive technical specifications.
• Contribute to system design discussions, leveraging your understanding of object-oriented fundamentals.
• Produce detailed System Requirements Documents (SRDs), functional requirements documents, and business requirements documents.
• Agile & Project Management: Utilize expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies to manage project workflows.
• Facilitate and lead communication between business stakeholders, product managers, solutions architects, developers, and QA teams.
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Documentation & Communication: Champion the creation and maintenance of detailed documentation for business processes, user stories, and system requirements, including UML diagrams.
• Provide expert-level support and insights to optimize and refine business processes.
• Work closely with developers and QA to ensure proper project execution.
• Clearly communicate complex payment processing logic.

Technical Skills & Expertise:

• Deep understanding of payment processing workflows and logic, particularly credit card processing (Visa, Mastercard).
• Experience with payment platforms such as Stripe, Square, Shopify, or similar.
• Familiarity with Card Present/Card Not Present transactions and payment tokenization.
• Understanding of physical device systems (credit card machines).
• Proficiency in advanced data modeling, data mapping, and process mapping.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented fundamentals and good SQL skills.
• Experience creating SRDs.
• Familiarity with tools such as Azure and Confluence.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a mid to senior-level Business Analyst in a software development environment, with a strong emphasis on payment processing.
• Experience building and refining backend payment systems.
• Experience working with enhancements and refinements of payment products.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a track record of handling complex data analysis.
• Does not need full implementation experience.
