The Leduc Beaumont Devon Primary Care Network is a joint venture between participating local family physicians and Alberta Health Services. Our mandate is to sustain and enhance the quality, coordination, and integration of health care services in Leduc and area and to improve the quality of life for the community of patients and physicians.
The Leduc Beaumont Devon Primary Care Network is seeking an engaged and enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary healthcare team. This is a unique role as the incumbent will have the opportunity to provide full scope, independent NP services in the community with the support of a full interdisciplinary team, physicians and mentorship with an existing NP, emphasizing care to unattached patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide restricted activities and care within the full scope of practice as defined under the Health Professions Act (HPA).
- Provide evidence-based NP practice, including but not limited to:
- Complete comprehensive and focused health assessments,
- Diagnose health problems, support, and counsel patients regarding health problems,
- Manage and implement patient care across the lifespan,
- Manage complex chronic health conditions and illnesses,
- Order and interpret diagnostic investigations (e.g. blood tests, imaging, and others),
- Critically evaluate the best evidence for care available and integrate research into practice,
- Refer patients to other health care providers as needed,
- Prescribe medications and other treatments for various diseases, disorders and injuries,
- Consult and collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals, and
- Participate in initiatives to promote community health and prevention of illness and injury,
- On call after hours for urgent lab results.
- Maintain an independent panel with a target of 500-700 patients.
Requirements:
- Nurse Practitioner designation, currently enrolled with CRNA.
- Licensed to work with all ages.
- Preferred 3 years of directly related experience in primary care, community health nursing, northern nursing and/or ambulatory care with an emphasis on primary care services.
Hours of Work and location:
- Hours of work will consist of 7.5 hour shifts scheduled Monday to Friday.
- The after-hours clinic is under development and will require 1-2 days/evenings per week of coverage. On these days, the proposed hours will be 1:00-9:00 pm.
- Regular day shifts are from 8:00 - 4:00 pm.
- Location of work will be in Leduc at the central PCN office, at the NP satellite clinics in Warburg and Thorsby, with potential to expand into other rural/suburban rural sites within the catchment area.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary range is $62.74 - $72.00 per hour.
