Job Description
Job Title: Maternal Fetal Medical Sonographer
Job Specialty: Perinatal Ultrasound
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 5x8 Hr
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: Minimum of two years in MFM perinatal scanning experience
License: ARRT Sonography (S) or ARDMS registry
Certifications: AHA BLS, ARRT - Sonography (S) OR ARDMS - Fetal Echocardiography (FE)
Must-Have: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills within a team, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Description:

- Perform a variety of perinatal ultrasound procedures to evaluate internal organs and vessels for diagnosing diseases in utero.
- Prepare examination rooms and obtain informed consent from patients.
- Request accurate clinical history as necessary for exams.
- Review patient history and determine proper selection of protocols.
- Explain examination methods and position patients appropriately.
- Assess patient status and needs, conducting appropriate diagnostic tests to monitor ongoing conditions.
- Review and evaluate completed tests for quality, completeness, and correct test orders.
- Coordinate preparation of images/exams and required documentation for physicians.
- Document and communicate patient-related information thoroughly and accurately.
- Convey physician instructions or caregiver observations to patients and consider these in providing care.
- Meet the needs of patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams through effective communication and coordination.
- Ensure safe and effective handoff between shifts through clear communication with incoming staff.
- Monitor equipment for reliability and safety, and report issues or required repairs.
- Order and stock supplies, clean rooms, and maintain equipment.
- Transport patients as necessary.
- Actively participate in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction and workflow improvement.
- May be required to float to other departments based on business need and may need to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
