The Team and Role

Jacobi's Investment Engineering team has a passion for investment problem solving and converting processes and models of our clients into scalable technology tools and solutions. The Investment Engineer will join a team located across the United States, UK, and Australia. Each team member works closely with clients in their region, while also collaborating with colleagues in other locations.

Responsibilities of the Investment Engineer include:
  • Platform development - Contribute to the research, design, testing and implementation of investment tools that assist in portfolio construction, risk and data management.
  • Client engagement - Support the unique investment workflows of our clients through helping configure dynamic dashboards and workflows in the Jacobi environment, responding to client enquiries, and assisting with the resolution of issues that arise.
  • Content production - Contribute to thought leadership relating to financial markets, particularly with respect to quantitative modeling and/or the use of technology. Produce technical and user content explaining the use of, and technical underpinnings of the Jacobi platform's functionalities.
  • Business development - Contribute to business development activities by understanding and assessing prospective client needs, and presenting tailored workflow solutions using Jacobi functionality.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial industry - investment or portfolio management
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, e.g. finance, quantitative modeling, or related disciplines
  • Ability to multi-task and switch context to changing priorities in a highly dynamic environment
  • Inquisitive and enjoy interpreting information and problem solving
  • A good communicator, both written and verbal
  • An interest in investing, technology and the investment management industry
