Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Specialty: Nursing Administration - Wound Care Experience Required

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Days 5x8 with every other weekend

Guaranteed Hours: 37.50 per week

Experience: Some preferred, no experience required

License: Licensed and registered as a professional nurse

Certifications: Nursing degree; Bachelor's or Master's preferred

Must-Have: Wound Care Experience

Job Description:

- Utilize the nursing process in providing direct patient care.
- Responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating care for assigned patients.
- Deliver care based on the standards and practices established by the Department of Nursing and related policies.
- Diagnose and treat human responses to health problems through case finding, health teaching, and counseling.
- Supervise care provided by LPNs, RNPs, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
- Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and significant others.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans including physical and psychosocial needs.
- Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and medical directives.
- Oversee and ensure robust implementation of patient care.
- Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to treatment and changes in condition.
- Coordinate care plans to align with medical regimen and treatments.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to establish care priorities.
- Ensure timely provision of patient care and therapeutic interventions.
- Incorporate age-specific care needs into care plans.
- Accept responsibility for nursing interventions and outcomes based on clinical judgments.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and development of nursing standards.
- Communicate effectively, manage stress, and facilitate interdisciplinary relationships.
- Participate in orientation, meetings, committees, and educational programs.
- Take on charge responsibilities and assist with coverage across units.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all parties involved.
- Act as a clinical resource for student nurses.
- Partake in research and pilot projects supported by the Nursing Department.
- Engage in professional growth and education, including continuing education and pursuing advanced degrees in nursing.
- Participate in professional organizations and community activities.
