As an expert negotiator and trusted team leader, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of negotiation principles and contract terms to build strong customer relationships. You will independently tackle challenges, identify risks, and develop effective solutions under pressure. Your proficiency in mitigating business and contractual risks, uncovering cost-saving opportunities, and exploring new contracting areas will be essential. Additionally, you will provide strategic leadership and direction on supplier relationships, project management, member needs, and senior leadership input.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

• Project Management: Independently develop and execute custom contracting work plans, manage project timelines, and ensure timely completion of negotiations without compromising quality.
• Category Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in contracting across various disciplines, including nursing, surgery, capital, medical devices, and non-clinical areas. Possess thorough knowledge of product features, benefits, comparisons, and market impacts.
• Supplier Knowledge: Leverage in-depth supplier knowledge to develop strategies, create leverage, mitigate risks, and anticipate market trends. Lead complex corporate negotiations and represent HealthTrust at supplier and provider site visits.
• Strategic Development: Formulate clear contract strategies aligned with member needs, manage risks, and adapt strategies as necessary throughout the sourcing process to achieve desired outcomes.
• Sourcing Process Management: Oversee the entire sourcing process, including market research, bid preparation, RFI, strategy development, RFP, contract negotiations, and contract launch. Present and validate category strategies and awards with the governance structure.
• Relationship Management: Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with key suppliers and member stakeholders. Represent HealthTrust at industry events and organizational projects.
• Effective Communication: Conduct articulate and confident business conversations with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers. Facilitate project kick-offs, communicate negotiation statuses, and engage member stakeholders effectively.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with senior supply chain and clinical teams, legal staff, financial analysts, contract analysts, and the Enterprise Account team throughout the sourcing process.
• Financial & Operational Goals: Achieve financial and operational goals, align contracting processes, and enhance supply chain contract services.
• Customer Service Excellence: Resolve supplier and customer issues, maintain strong relationships, and consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Team Leadership: Establish key performance indicators, develop and coach the sourcing team, conduct performance reviews, and manage team budget expenses.
• Change Management: Champion business process, organizational, and cultural changes. Lead process improvement or training initiatives and manage the impact on member operations.

What you will need for this role:

• Accredited College Bachelor's Degree required (Supply Chain, Healthcare, Business, Finance)
• 7+ years of relevant work experience - strategic sourcing and negotiating complex contracts in various spend segments specific to the healthcare industry.
• Supervisory experience - Proven experience in guiding individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standard and delivering quality work, coaching and developing.
• Proven track-record of achieving results and managing equivalent or similar responsibilities.
