Responsibilities:
- Accounting & Financial Oversight: Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger management, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate invoicing, collections, and timely payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial transactions.
- Enhance and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic business decisions.
- Evaluate revenue, expenses, and profitability trends to optimize financial performance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, refine pricing strategies, and improve profit margins.
- Lead budgeting and variance analysis processes to align financial planning with company objectives.
- Oversee capital management strategies to support business growth initiatives.
- Tax & Compliance: Manage sales tax filings and compliance through platforms such as TaxJar.
- Support external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
- Strengthen internal controls to maintain financial integrity and mitigate risk.
- Operational & Strategic Support: Partner with leadership to refine financial processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Improve financial tools and reporting systems, utilizing QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel functions.
- Provide data-driven insights to improve operational efficiency and inform business growth strategies.
- Spearhead system implementations and process improvements to support scaling initiatives.
- Investor & External Relations: Work closely with investors, financial institutions, and private equity groups to support business growth.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for key stakeholders.
- Assist in securing funding and managing capital structure to support expansion plans.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA required.
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or controllership, preferably within e-commerce or consumer goods.
- Proven expertise in scaling operations, financial growth strategies, and startup environments.
- Strong background in system implementation and process optimization.
- Comprehensive experience in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and capital management.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (QuickBooks Online preferred).
- Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing accounting teams and improving financial processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
